Future History, World-as-Myth: Lazarus Long steals the starship New Frontiers (a multigenerational ship) and rescues the long lived Howard Families from the short lived humans who had gathered them in an internment camp to study (torture) them to find out the secret of their longevity. The escape was accomplished using the Libby-Sheffield Para-Drive (a faster-than-light star drive) developed by Andrew Jackson "Slipstick" Libby (later reborn as Elizabeth Andrew Jackson Libby Long).
