C24, also known as Chromosome 24, is a biological compound that features in Doom.

Background

This biological sequence was discovered at the Olduvai Research Facility site on Mars by a research team from the UAC. From excavations, it was learnt that the ancient Martian people discovered the compound and injected it into themselves which began to increase their strength, intelligence and other biological traits. However, the chromosome had a negative impact on those individuals that were violent actions and were 'evil'. These individuals were transformed into monstrous mutations that lashed out against other forms of life; infecting those that could become like themselves and killing those that are not.
