Japanese animated OVA series first released in 1987, Bubblegum Crisis is set in the year 2033. Destroyed in a major earthquake in 2027, Tokyo is being rebuilt as Mega-Tokyo using "Boomers", humanoid robots developed by Genom Corporation. Unfortunately, these boomers occasionaly go berzerk, threatening lives and property. The Knight Sabres, a female mercenary group, appears to stop the rogue boomers.
