Crusnik

Crusniks are an altered species of humanity which appear in the anime Trinity Blood.

Background

Though they appear to be ordinary humans, they are almost superhuman. Their bodies contain numerous nanomachines giving them a level of power greater than Humans; it has been noted that they are capable of destroying entire cities. In order to activate this power, the Crusnik would need to make use of the nanomachines which becomes immediately apparent as the Crusniks form changes.

They can be described as artificial vampires within the universe of Trinity Blood, made through the nanomachines in their veins. The benefits from this allow the person a far greater lifespan compared to humans, even after more than 900 years, none of them look significantly different. They are also able to regenerate parts of their body, and one member of this "species" managed to survive a crash from orbit onto the Earth's surface.

However, they suffer the same addiction to blood that the Methuselah suffer from. The Crusniks differ from their viral-infected cousins in that they feed on the blood of the Methuselah making them very dangerous to them
