Great Evil (Fifth Element)

From Multiversal Omnipedia

The Great Evil, also known as Mr Shadow, was a cosmic evil being that featured in The Fifth Element.

Background

The Great Evil was a powerful evil entity that emerged every five millennia where it destroyed entire planets. Its true history is unknown except that the Mondoshawan were charged with preserving four elemental stones that were capable of defeating the Great Evil. The stones were secreted on Earth and protected by a family of priests until war consumed the world. The Mondoshawan took the stones away but stated that they would return when the Great Evil reappeared.

Their prophecy came to pass in the year 2263 the Great Evil emerged during a planetary eclipse right in front of a Federated Navy battleship which saw the blackish fiery mass form. Attempts were made to communicate with the mass but this fell on deaf ears and later erupted in conflict. However, the Great Evil was unaffected and even grew more powerful at the violence directed at itself after which it consumed a Federated Battleship in a fiery ball of flame.

Once this occured, the Great Evil communicated through a telephone to one of its followers namely Zorg an demanded the capture of the elemental stones. When Zorg failed and the weapon was taken to Earth, the Great Evil solidified itself into an asteroid and hurl the form at Earth before the weapon could be deployed. However, Leeloo activated the weapon using herself to provide the Divine Light that struck the Great Evil seconds before it reached Earth. This neutralized it and changed it into a second moon orbiting the planet.

The Great Evil was unaffected by conventional weapons. Its form was a spherical fiery black mass that could solidify into a smaller shape or expand which it used to destroy objects within its reach. It was extremely intelligent and capable of communicating through electronic means to its followers as well as paralyse its enemies with fear.
