Jacques Lefevre was the finance minister of France in 1991. Like the finance ministers of other common market nations, he was invited by Augustus Steranko to house France's gold at the Chatteau Richelieu for safekeeping (in reality part of Steranko's scheme to steal the gold). Lefevre saw through Steranko's lies and refused to cooperate, and for this he was murdered by Zigesfeld, who bludgeoned him with a gold tea tray. His body was later put into his car along with that of Blade, who had arrived trying to save him, and their killings disguised as a traffic accident.
